Can I reuse my deactivated Yahoo ID?

If your account has been discontinued for inactivity or by choice, you may be able to use the ID again. After the account is fully deactivated, anyone can select that ID to create a new Yahoo account. If it's not available, consider using a similar variation.

.

Close your Yahoo Account

Stay organized by closing an old or rarely used account. Before closing, you'll want to make sure you check some things first because once the account is terminated, we can't recover any info or restore access.

First, check the following

  • Do you use Account Key? You must disable Yahoo Account Key before closing your account.
  • Closing a child or family account? Make sure to close all child accounts before closing the parent account.
  • Do you know the current password? If not, use the Sign-in Helper to recover your password.
  • Cancel paid services to avoid future charges - Closing your account won't stop automatic billing.
  • Do you use your Yahoo account on any third-party websites? We recommend you remove your Yahoo account from any associated third-party accounts (for example, Facebook).

Close the account

  1. Sign in to the Yahoo account termination page.
  2. Read the info on terminating your account.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Confirm your identity and click Yes, terminate this account.
Your account will be reactivated if you sign in to it within 40 days of closing it, with longer hold periods for accounts registered in Australia or New Zealand (90 days), and Brazil or Taiwan (180 days).

i have an account ending with "yahoo.com" which i can sign in easily but when i sign in, i can see that my email and domain is "yahoo.com.tr"

when i send an email to "yahoo.com.tr" , no problem, and when i send an email to another , i see that it's been sent from "yahoo.com.tr" and i cannot send to "yahoo.com" email. also, when i try to get a new email from yahoo with my name, it says it's taken already )))

the problem is, my skype has my email ending "yahoo.com"  and i cannot receive a recovery email from skype.

Re: domain issues

@umutkoyun - You can find out what your Yahoo Mail domain is by using these steps:

  1. Sign in to Yahoo Mail.
  2. Mouse over the Settings menu icon | select Settings.
  3. Next to "Yahoo account," you'll see your email address; your domain is everything after the"@."

It's no longer possible to sign up for a new Yahoo Account with your local domain. Example: @yahoo.fr, @yahoo.de etc. You'll only be able to sign up for a new account using @yahoo.com. Also, it's not possible to change the domain of your existing Yahoo email address.

Previously, our system was set to allow email to a Yahoo ID to be delivered regardless of the domain to which it was addressed. Emails addressed to your Yahoo ID with an incorrect international domain are no longer redirected to the appropriate Yahoo ID and domain.

Re: domain issues

@umutkoyun - I'm afraid it's not possible to change the domain of your existing Yahoo email address.

The domain of your Yahoo Mail address was determined by the Yahoo site through which you sign up for an account and also by the language preference you select at the time of registration. Currently, it's not possible to change the domain of your existing Yahoo email address.

Re: domain issues

@umutkoyun - You'll only be able to sign up for a new account using "yourusername @yahoo.com" if your ID (current username with @yahoo.com.tr domain) is deleted and then is recycled for reuse.
